James Posey and the Celtics have agreed to terms of a deal that will bring the former Miami Heat forward to Boston. "He was a free agent," team spokesman Jeff Twiss said Sunday. "He was available to be signed and he decided to sign with us." Twiss did not disclose details of the agreement with the 30-year-old, who also played for the Memphis Grizzlies.
The 6-foot-8 Posey has a reputation as a strong defender. He alternated with Antoine Walker as the sixth man when the Heat won the NBA title in 2006.
Posey has averaged 8.2 points and 5.6 rebounds since entering the NBA with Memphis out of Xavier in 2003.

never thought Posey lived up to potential, but then again with Allen, Garnett and Pierce...someone has to play without the ball...so maybe it's good.

the Celtics are really racking up players, theyre wanting a title bad, I like posey but I agree he hasnt lived up to his potential yet, still dudes got mad hops..

Yeah, but with a core of three stars, I guess they have to start thinking about role players and that's whatthey are doing. What ever happened to Reggie Miller?...Did that go away?

He made it official a couple days ago that he would not come out of retirement..too bad I wouldve liked to see reggie behind the arc again..

yes hes 42, but in great shape and hes one of the best 3-point shooters ever, I think he retired too early..

He retired while he was still good. To many of those old dogs hang in there for the money and ruin their own image.

They are not the favorites in the East putting a bunch of players together will not work in one year. My Bulls have been together for 2 to 3 years and will East.
