Boston Celtics Call Reggie Miller

Reggie Miller says he is contemplating a return to the NBA, this time with the Boston Celtics.
Miller

Miller, who turns 42 on Aug. 24, played his entire 18-year career with the Indiana Pacers before retiring in 2005. Since his playing days ended he has worked as a television analyst for TNT.

"I'm always flattered when my name is mentioned as someone who can still help an NBA team win a championship," Miller said Wednesday in a statement relayed to The Associated Press by the TNT network. "I've had limited discussions with Celtics management about their roster and a potential role for me. At this time, I'm enjoying my role as an analyst with TNT."

Miller was all set to continue that job when Celtics general manager Danny Ainge and coach Doc Rivers asked him to think about joining their revamped team in a reserve role, playing about 15 minutes per game.
ESPN - Miller says he's pondering comeback with Celtics - NBA

Re: Boston Celtics Call Reggie Miller

I dunno. 42 years old !!!! I'm not a big fan of hiring old men to play a young mans sport. Reggie was great in his day but once again I see this as another retired player looking for an extra few million to put in the bank. At this stage they generally prove what we already know ... they're to old.

We'll see. With Ainge at the wheel I suspect it'll happen.

Cool Re: Boston Celtics Call Reggie Miller

I don't believe he'll come back. He couldn't play defense or create his own shot when he was young. The Celts would just have to run him off screens to get a jump shot. Who are the Celts goanna call next, Campy Russell?

I hear that once he signs Miller, Ainge is going to bring Robert Parrish out of retirement and have the oldest team in NBA history.

He is also going to see if the big red head aka Bill Walton can suit up to be the backup center to Perkins.

Dave Cowens can come back too. The team needs all the help they can use. Hell maybe sorry ass Danny Ainge can come suit up just in case Rondo gets tired. Peace and Go Celts.

Re: Boston Celtics Call Reggie Miller

If they can pull him out of retirement, they would be verrry scary, go ahead and start sizing rings..Pierce, allen, miller, garnett are you kidding me..

Sizing rings, or petitioning to get walkers legalized in the NBA? That would be one old, old team.

Who would they have to run the plays for them? All they have are scorers that will be tripping over each other for the ball. One of them will have to change their game to benefit everybody. Who will it be???
