Celtics win, but the game is closer than last time due to Doc?s willingness to give the young players extended time given their most recent performance ...

Another opportunity to move down the draft board. It’s likely that we will take down the Knicks today and I hope to enjoy an abundance of Gerald Green highlight reel moves. Kid had a career high 17 points the other night and is showing a willingness to play defense. Unlike fellow youngsters Al Jefferson and Kendrick Perkins, Green plays the wing and has less to learn in terms of rotations and help defense since he is playing at the SF spot. He is long and has terrific range which he uses to allow himself to deceptively sag off his man, but still close enough to make a play. Sure, he needs some work, but his athletic ability alone makes him an adequate defender at the wing. Enjoy the Sunday afternoon everyone, I am having a birthday party for my son who turns three. I’ll catch glimpes of the game, but will have to make use of the DVR to catch up on this one later.

The time of the year to look at the younger players...Green is comig off his best game yet.

Re: Celtics looking at younger players

His performance against Philly was nice: 6-for-9, 17 points in almost 25 minutes. He played nearly 35 against the Knicks but was nowhere near as sharp from the floor, hitting just 46% of his shots. I'm glad to see Green getting some more playing time, though. He has potential. What's up with Jefferson, though? 0 minutes in the last 5 games, according to the stats over at Yahoo! Sports. He injured, or a healthy scratch?
