| Re: Greatest Celtic of All-time?... Russell's nine titles in his era probably equal the three that Bird won in his. One was an offensive genius, while the other was a defensive whiz. Both were great team players and made everyone around them better. I have to go with the offensive prowess of Bird and call him the greatest Celtic ever. Then Russell and then Havlicek.

| Re: Greatest Celtic of All-time?... I'm not trying to minimize what he must have gone through, but I believe Bird was a better player, that simple. What Russell went through was similar to what Jackie Robinson went through, though not as intense, but few would argue that Robinson was the greatest Dodger of them all. |

| Re: Greatest Celtic of All-time?... I never got to see Russell play. I hear he was fairly good. I have seen Bird play, and he have been one of the best passers I ever saw. He was one of the best scorers I ever saw. He has been my favorite player since I saw him play. He is my choice for greatest Celtic...although he does lose some points by being a traitor and working for the Pacers. |
