BOSTON (AP) -- Luol Deng scored 20 points, Gordon added 13 of his 17 in the fourth quarter, and the Bulls rallied to beat the Boston Celtics 101-97 Sunday.

Paul Pierce scored 24 points to lead Boston, but was held to two in the fourth quarter on 1-of-10 shooting. Wally Szcerbiak added 23 for the Celtics, who have lost three of four and remained four games behind the 76ers.
"We've been playing for the eighth spot all season," Pierce said. "So it was unfortunate to lose. But we're still in it. We're in it until they tell us otherwise."

Ever the optimist that Pierce. If only he was a little more optimistic about making shots in the 4th quarter. Anybody really see the Celtics clinching a playoff spot? If so, how far will they go?

Seriously, though, as a Celtic fan this kills me a little inside. Boston is not just a very good team right now. 29-42, 3-7 in their last 10 games. They probably won't even make the playoffs this season. Makes me long for the glory days of this fading franchise...

The last thing they need to do is make the playoffs, not that they have a chance. They need to get into the lottery and come away with a big time scorer, if that guy is out there.

With what there draft position will be, I don't think there is a great wingman available for Pierce in this draft. They could trade up to top five and some players I like are Joakim Noah, Tyrus Thomas and Patrick O'Bryant; but with their current draft standing all three of those guys are out of reach.
