| Gerald Green wins Slam Dunk Contest Gerald Green of the Boston Celtics has won the 2007 NBA Slam Dunk Contest. According to the Associated Press, "Green, the Celtics' 21-year-old swingman, performed his two most memorable dunks in the first round before that lengthy final leap over a 3-foot table bearing the All-Star game logo for a windmill jam and perfect 50 score to cap an event that gets tougher to revolutionize every year" "Green first made an electrifying two-handed slam on an alley-oop pass off the side of the backboard from teammate Paul Pierce in the first round. Green then jumped over fellow finalist Nate Robinson while wearing the No. 7 Celtics jersey of 1991 dunk champion Dee Brown _ and shielding his eyes in the crook of his elbow in an homage to Brown's memorable no-look dunk." Anyone here watch the Dunk Contest? Was Green's performance as impressive as they make it sound?

Re: Gerald Green wins Slam Dunk Contest Quite frankly, I wasn't overly impressed with any of the dunks; however, I would say that Dwight Howard's sticker dunk was the best of the night in terms of creativity while being athletically impressive as well. It's a shame that it was one of the lowest rewarded dunks of the night. I still think they got the winner right, though. He had nice dunks, but none that made me go, "Did he just do that?!?!"

Re: Gerald Green wins Slam Dunk Contest The dunks were decent this year. Like the winner said, it is hard to top MJ, Dr J, Wilkins, hell, all the old timers just have it covered! That sticker dunk was cool! Not a bad contest this year. First time in a couple of years since I watched it!

Re: Gerald Green wins Slam Dunk Contest There are only so many ways to dunk abasketball. This contest will be worth watching only when the top players are in it, not the scrubs. Where is the great Lebron, Kobe, Carmelo, Wade, and others?

Re: Gerald Green wins Slam Dunk Contest As part of the "Rising Stars" promotion, participants are only eligible until their third year. As a result, the upper echelon superstars can no longer take part in the dunk contest.

Re: Gerald Green wins Slam Dunk Contest The slam dunk contest is completely outdated. It's really hard to come up with anything new and exciting. Dwight Howards was new and original. I liked his dunk the best.
