If you're the Boston Celtics, you can't imagine it gets much worse but it may.
Sebastian Telfair, a Brooklyn born boy, was traded from the Trail Blazers earlier this year (while a Blazer he tried to bring a gun onto an airplane, while claiming it was his girl's bag and he had no clue it was there).
Earlier this week, Telfair was in NYC as the Celtics were playing the Knicks. In the evening, while with his fiancee at a restaurant owned by rapper P. Diddy, he stepped outside. Some random thug happened to rip off a $50,000 necklace from Telfair's neck and got away. Telfair returned to the restaurant and refused to call the police or have the place do so. He
was seen on the phone and one witness heard him say "take care of it." A little bit later while rapper Faboulous was leaving the same restaurant, he and his posse were struck with bullets (he survived) and as it turns out, the person who robbed Telfair
may have been part of Faboulous' "posse".
Telfair left the game @ MSG in the day following at half-time due to being sick, according to Doc Rivers. But as it turns out, he left to try and identify the robber at a local police station. Some think he was questioned by the NYPD but he denies that.
This is too interesting and it could play a role in the Celtics season if he develops into anything more serious. Let me say, I'm not sure if any of this has been confirmed but it's been making the rounds here over the week.
