Re: Rajon Rondo & Sebastian Telfair

Sounds like Doc Rivers is very happy with the backcourt combo of Rondo & Telfair.

"I do like those two together for just the speed alone," Rivers says in this article. "They only had two sets, but you really didn't need an offensive set with their speed. They spread the floor and Paul [Pierce] and Wally [Szczerbiak] played off them so well."

"And you can see what the pressure defensively did as well. I don't know how long you can play at that tempo. That's what I was trying to see, how many minutes straight could you go up and down at that tempo. I thought it started breaking up at the five- or six-minute mark, which is probably typical. But I like it. We're going to use it."

Hmm, what do you think of this, Celtics fans? You like the sound of a Rondo - Telfair backcourt?

Re: Rajon Rondo & Sebastian Telfair

Speed gets you nowhere in a halfcourt game, and unless these guys can shoot, which I don't think they can, what good will they do? Telfair appears to be in the mold of many of the kids that are big playground stars in New York; he can dribble and penetrate, but you could lock him in the gym at night and he still couldn't score from the outside .

Re: Rajon Rondo & Sebastian Telfair

True legend but if he can get a bit bigger like his older cousin, he could be a force to be wreckoned with. Telfair doesn't have to be a great shooter, but Boston needs to surround him with guys who can. Have Telfair be able to penetrate and dish it out.

But again, he has to put on some muscle to be an effective player like that.

Re: Rajon Rondo & Sebastian Telfair

I would like to see the Celtics be good again. I hate them, but basketball is not even worth watching when you can't even root against them because they are so bad. Here in the Northeast, between them and the Knicks the last few years, it has made the NBA almost irrelevent.
