Bruins buy out Glen Murray

This is a bold statement by Bruins office- yes he missed 19 games due to injury and yes this was one of his more dry seasons with 17 goals and 13 assists in 63 games with Boston and yes he is 35 years old - but he was one of their stars. They owed him $4.15 million for the upcoming season.

This was his second time round with the Bruins.
It's good to see them come down with a decision - indecisiveness doesn't win Cups.

They're really putting a lot of faith in Ryder and I don't know if that's smart. It's their team, they can sink as low as they want.

do you think that's what this is - confidence in Ryder? are they building the team around him?

Re: Bruins buy out Glen Murray

well it would almost seem like that given his contract but I just think they feel that he can replace Murray in a heartbeat. Time will tell. I just don't think Ryder has the goods they think he has.
