I was having a convo with a couple people last night and we were talking about who was the best player ever. Someone actually had the balls to say that Jordan wasn't that good. I wanted to sacrafice this kid. Is there anyone else that thinks that he isn't the best player in NBA history, if not the best athlete ever??? Please be honest

Uh, he is no doubt the best Basketball player ever. No he is not the best Athlete ever. Trying to be unbiased as possible. But LeBron James is a better "Athlete" than MJ. Not a better basketball player. But an athlete yes.

I'd take Wilt over MJ as well...Wilt not only dominated his era, if you look at him as an overall athlete...he was a darn good high jumper, and hurdler in college...an a fantastic volleyball player as well...

Chamberlin had no peers (or teammates most years) when he played...while Russell had the Celtics and only had to play D...

I'd take the Big Dipper any day over MJ...

MJ IS the greatest of all time. you have to take into account his accomplishments in the era he played. there was MUCH more parity when he was playing than when some of the other legends were. back in the 70s and earlier, there were only a handful of teams that could compete, and the level of talent wasn't nearly as high as it was during MJ's run.

For me he is the greatest player that ever played the game. Every kid in almost every country knows who Michael Jordan is. He truly popularized the sport everywhere.

I strongly disagree, that MJ is the best basketball player that ever played the game, was MJ great? Yes no doubt about that.

In my eyes Kobe Bryant is the best so far to have ever played the game, the first place you want to look is Championships MJ-6 Kobe-4, MJ's career is done, Kobe is just hitting his prime, and has a real chance at acquiring #5 this year with the addition of Ron Artest.

To me the 2nd place you look at would be the talent level in the NBA, to me if you switched places with the two of them I think Kobe still carries the bulls teams to those championships, however I dont think MJ helps the lakers win all 4 of them, 2 yes maybe 3 of them. MJ played in the league when most of the rotation guys just werent that good, or athletic, besides a few teams. If you take todays 10th or 11th men in the rotation they would probably be like 5th or the 6th man in the rotation back when Jordan was doing his thing, that makes a big difference.

Everyone may know who he is but that hardly suggests he is the best of all time, Im not saying he wasnt a great player, Im not even suggesting that he didnt help popularize the sport, but to say he did it by himself is a big diss to players such as Magic, Bird, Stockton, Malone, Clyde, Hakeem, Barkley, McHale, Isiah and many others.
