BOSTON (AP)—The Boston Celtics have waived forward Darius Miles, who missed the past two seasons with knee injuries and who was suspended without pay for 10 games this season for violating the NBA’s anti-drug program.
The Celtics said Monday that its training camp roster now has 15 players.
Boston signed Miles as a free agent Aug. 22. He averaged 1.8 points and 1.3 rebounds in six preseason games.
Miles’ suspension will begin with the first game of the regular season for which he is eligible and physically able to play.
The 27-year-old was selected third overall by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2000 draft. He has averaged 10.6 points and 5.2 rebounds in his career.


LOL. Remember when both Darius Miles and Lamar Odom were supposed to be the future of the NBA? Being a Laker fan I hate to say it, but I've never really had trust in Lamar and when I saw Darius the first time, I thought he would be a choke.

Darius Miles=FAIL. i remember when this guy was compared to as being the next "MJ" and he failed....big time!

Possibly not the best idea to jump straight to the conclusion you have, he could have been waived for any number of reason.

You think Darius Miles has failed as a player what about Harold Miner, his nickname was Baby Jordan coming out of college, after he won the dunk contest he pretty much drifted off into oblivion. Or what about Penny Hardaway, had huge raps on him but once Shaq moved on he was shown to not be so special.

what??? Penny is still talked about being one of the best of his era. Penny was reeeeally good and he wasn't compared to Jordan, he was comapred to Magic Johnson. I believe you're thinking of Grant Hill.
