I cant see the NBA without the Sonics. I'm a die hard Lakers fan but the Sonics were a part of history and for the NBA to throw that away is like them destroying the Chicago Bulls and refusing to acknowledge they existed. I recently saw the OKC's jersey's and they look like complete rip off's of the Knicks and Grizzlies. Anybody else feel like you've been slapped in the face by the NBA's change?

Capitalism my good man...same reason the Dodgers and Giants left New York to go out west...old frachises never die...but new ones bring fans in from a different area. I like the Sonics...great team in the late 70's early 80's but I can embrace the new team...though the Thunders...yea...not easy to embrace.

whats funny is i actually had emailed the team suggesting them to name the team the "Thunderbolts". Team name i created on NBA 2K8 which the logo looks awesome. Guess they didnt read my email. yeah, but why not just create a team in OKC and leave the Sonics in Seattle?

and hey, sue them! You should have run out an register some domains with variations of Thunder and sold it back to the team...how is NBSA 2K8?...I am cheap and always buying them 2 or 3 years later for a few bucks

I've given up on sports video games. since EA decided to stop making PC versions.. they blame people who copy/bootleg the game from one copy. I don't believe there's a single EA Sports title issued for PC for "this" sports season.

I hate the owner of the team for stealing it from the city of Seattle. I lived in Seattle for 5 years and was there when they gutted and rebuilt Key Arena for the Sonics. Less than 2 years later the owner was crying for a new stadium again....and now this. I will never root for that team and hope the owner dies a very slow and painful death.

You notice that Seattle wants a new team.. Gary Payton was sort of the master of ceremonies for their pre-game celebration a week or two ago and it seemed on tv anyway that the crowd still loves the guy. If the NBA really cared about all the stuff with keeping the colors and name in Seattle, as mentioned.. why didn't they just make Oklahoma an expansion and pay the Seattle owner instead, since that's how it seems.. they didn't want to punish HIM by making him buy a new franchise so they just let him move one and someone who wants to start the Sonics up again has to pay out the ass to start a new one instead. MORE money to the NBA.

I was in Seattle during Gary Payton's prime, he is loved in Seattle. Nate McMillan is also a very popular former player along with Detlef Schrempf and even Shawn Kemp was very popular in Seattle. It was nearly impossible to get tickets to Sonics games all the years I lived there except for when Key Arena was being remodeled and they played their home games in the Tacoma Dome.

Shawn Kemp.. there's a study in getting lazy.. he was so pathetic looking in the second part of his career.
