| NBA's First-Half MVP? Who is it? The way I see it, this essentially comes down to four guys. In alphabetical order, they are: KOBE BRYANT
First in the NBA in scoring with 35.5 points per game.
Averaging 5.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.5 steals this season. ALLEN IVERSON
Second in the NBA in scoring with 33.6 points per game.
Also ranks eighth in the league with a 7.4 assists per game average. LEBRON JAMES
Third in the NBA in scoring with 30.7 points per game.
Also averaging 7.0 rebounds and 6.5 assists per contest. STEVE NASH
First in the NBA with 11.1 assists per game.
Reigning MVP also averaging 19.3 points and 4.4 rebounds.
I think my nod would have to go to Iverson. He's the only one of the four who is in the Top 10 in two different statistical categories, and its especially impressive considering that those two are points and assists. Think of how many more total points he has a hand in, counting the scoring opportunities created by assists. Second would be Nash, followed by Kobe and Lebron. |
