JJ Redick Charged With DWI

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/colle...dick-dwi_x.htm

Ouch, he was already likely to drop to the 2nd round and this should pretty much guarantee that. Shame since scouts and fans alike were looking at any little thing to knock the kid...and he gives them something huge.

Those Incorrigible Duke athletes. You really think he is getting knocked out of the first round for a DUI? No coke, weapons or hookers; That's child's play.
But I have too imagine The Suns will take him in the first round with one of their two picks. He would be ideal for that team.

Think so?... I guess with Nash creating the space, Redick can shoot...might not be a bad deal.

Re: JJ Redick Charged With DWI

A lot of college basketball analysts predict that Redick will be chosen #11th overall, and get to play for the Orlando Magic. Hopefully if he falls far enough, he could end up playing for the Knicks.

Seriously, I don't think he will fall too much. He is a great basketball player and has a lot of potential. He is still in college, so you wouldn't expect him to have the full discipline and judgement of an adult 50-years old. You must learn from your experiences, and this is one of his learning steps. If everything works out for him, he won't be punished (a lot) for making this careless mistake.

CJG is right. A DWI won't stop anyone from drafting him. He'll do a mea culpa and that'll be that.

MJH MARK: Just what the Knicks need: Another guard who likes to shoot. They should try to go for a big player.

If he shoots well, he could turn the Knicks around. If he is a ballhog who cannot shoot well, then he will make the Knicks even worse. The Knicks should really evaluate him before they even consider drafting him.

Re: JJ Redick Charged With DWI

I guess you guys are right, the DWI won't push him out of the 1st round. I saw a report somewhere that said his back is messed up though (don't know if that's true or not though). I wouldn't want the Knicks to draft him though. Then again, I really don't know much about any of the prospects.

With Reddick, Marbury, Francis, Quentin Richardson and Jamaal Crawford, the Knicks could play with 2 balls at once and there would be unhappy people on the team. Since Eddy Curry is softer than a roll of Charmin bathroom tissue, The Knicks need a power forward in the worst way.

They should really attempt too trade up and snag Patrick O'Bryant out of Bradley. He is an absolute beast and I think has the potential too be the best player out of this draft. Right now New Orleans/Oklahoma City are expected too draft him with the 12th pick, so it is conceivable.

Here's the Scouting Report of Patrick O'Bryant...http://www.nba.com/celtics/news/draft-central/2006-draft-scouting-reports.html#patrick_obryant

Strengths: The first thing people talk about when they're considering O'Bryant is his massive 7'6" wingspan. He's nimble in the paint, making him a shot-blocking threat, and soft hands make him a capable rebounder as well.
Question Marks: He still needs to add size to his 7-foot frame, and will need to get stronger to bang with the big boys of the NBA. And given that bigs don't generally develop that quickly as pros, he may not make an immediate impact this year.

Skinny: Seven footers just don't grow on trees, and every team will have to give O'Bryant a long look. NBADraft.net likens him to Brad Daugherty, which is lofty praise. Can he live up to such a billing?
