Cool Kobe MVP? - a joke

As I said in another post, I would love to have been the fly on the wall wherever Kobe was watching yesterday's game. Let's see Shaq: 3 teams: 3 finals appearances. Kobe without Shaq: No playoff series wins. It's not about scoring 80 points. It's about winning.

Its also about my Man Shaq having a kid name Wade next to him, and my boy Kobe having...well?...Kobe had a fantastic season...he just wasn't on a fantastic team...

Shaq obviously didn't do it all by himself, but if Wade didn't have Shaq he wouldn't be there either. There is a major pattern here that can't be ignored. 3 different teams, finals appearances.

The pattern is simple...330 lbs are hard to move out of the center of the lane...

Re: Kobe MVP? - a joke

I have been down on Shaq for his failure to stay in the shape he should for him to avoid injuries, but I am glad to see him going to another Finals.
He is an authentically good person who does alot for those less fortunate than himself. Hope he wins another ring.

Re: Kobe MVP? - a joke

Shaq has had a star player to help him in each of his trips to the finals. Dwayne Wade, Kobe Bryant, and originally Penny Hardaway who was also great before injuries took their toll on him. I am a fan of Shaq's and will always be glad he played for my Lakers but in no way can anyone use team performance to judge Kobe as not being the great player he is. The Lakers do not have a center,PG, or a decent power forward. Lamar Odom is a solid player but that is all the help Kobe gets.

Okay, for the sake of argument - Shaq and the Heat have Lamar Odom; Kobe and the Lakers have D-Wade. Who goes further in the playoffs?

There would still be no center in the lineup with Kobe and Wade. They still would have Smush Parker at PG, nowhere near as good as Jason Williams. Then there is also no comparison between Kwame (hands of stone) Brown and Udonis Haslem. The Lakers would still be a two man team and would have two star players that play the same position. I would take the Heat in that matchup.

I am with Desertrat...I would have to take the Heat on this one...though Kobe and Wade would be fun to watch together.
