Biggest NBA Draft Blunders

seems over the last 30 years there have been many NBA Draft Blunders .... many great/very good players have been inexplicably passed over

but what was they biggest blunder of all ?

Re: Biggest NBA Draft Blunders

this is actually very tough for me .... MJ seems to be the obvious and most talked about .... but i think i have found some other very good ones

and i suppose for discussion .... if MJ is the overwhelming winner .... who would be your second choice ?

Re: Biggest NBA Draft Blunders

ok i voted for Ben Wallace

i think you have to not only look at what the player went on to accomplish ... but also who went ahead of them/how many went ahead of them

MJ behind Sam Bowie is huge .... but that is only one stupid team (the Trail Blazers)

Wallace went undrafted ..... that means every team had a brain lapse ... much bigger imo

Anything done by Isiah Thomas with the Knicks belongs on the short list.

Ginobili. for him to be drafted that low, and have 3 rings, and what he jsut did to new orleans.
easily, in my opinion, the biggest draft blunder, especialy now with all the scouting technology and stuff.

Nah, he's got talent, but he's not the leader that he's supposed to be. More talk than game.

Re: Biggest NBA Draft Blunders

I have a tough time including non-drafted and second rounders, because they weren't considered great prospects and most everyone passed on them. I think this is more for top players who fell a little bit and are making the teams ahead look silly for passing them up.
With that said, to me it is going to be Chris Paul when all is said and done. Those teams that passed on him (Hawks anyone??) are going to be regretting it for the next 10-15 years while he is the best PG in the league.
