To put a little more perspective into this He was about 20 when this happened. He's now 45. Doesn't make it right but sex education 25 years ago may not have been as prevalent as it is today .... for a 12 or 13 year old in Louisiana.

Yes I am older than Karl, and my guess is that sex education probably was not as well taught as it is today. I don't believe we even had sex education taught when I was in school. It was learned ... but not taught. At age 12 or 13, twenty-five years ago, I'm sure this young lady thought she was in love. Kids this age should be riding a bike and jumping rope, not giving birth.

Without wanting to sound vile or crude keep in mind that some men have two brains. You are exactly right and there should be punishment imposed but if the family didn't press charges what do you do ??? Gotta believe they saw his future and banked on him making it right. Does anyone know if there was ever any settlement of any kind ?

anyway this makes us deep southerners look bad. every state of the deep south teh age of consent is 16. except for louisiana where its 17. and here where i live, in south carolina, ITS 14. are you effin serioous? 14? a grown man can legally have sex with a 14 year old girl in my home state. am i the only one that finds that dispicable? maybe roger clemens shoulda moved here.

plus this makes us (black people) look bad. everytime one of us does something good. two of us gotta do something like this. he should be exiled from the black race and turn in his membership card to me.
