Noob Question

I am new to the whole trading card scene and I want to collect the cards made for the 2007/08 season but, as there are so many different types out there which ones should I go for?.

Any help is appreciated.

Wow, it's been so long since I collected. Back in the day, Topps and Fleer were the big dogs. I'm assuming they're still around? Upper Deck, maybe? As Geechee says, rookie cards are usually the big deal, or cards that are rare or contain errors. If you're really interested in getting the most bang for your buck, pick up a copy of Beckett Cards magazine or some other form of price guide. It'll give you a good idea of what the most highly sought-after cards are. Good luck!

Re: Noob Question

ye ai havent messed with cards since i was like 8 or 9. but i still got alotta cards. including derek jeter's minor league card from 1993. he looks 15 yrs old. bo jackson 1986 kc royals card. and jim kelly and art monk rookie cards. all nfl pro set, topps, and upper deck. upper deck definately makes the best cards cuz they're sturdier and crisper but topps has more classics.

yall think my jeter could be worht something? (will keep it regardless)

Same here. Haven't messed with them in years, but I've still got a ton of them around here. My 1984 and 1986 Topps NFL sets are the pride of my collection. Got an autographed Yastremski card in a pack once. Can't really remember too much else. Yeah, I'd say that Jeter would be worth a pretty penny.
