If you want cheap sneaks, visit
Stephon Marbury at
Steve and Barry's. Otherwise,
Michael Jordan's latest offering might be up your alley... if you're prepared to spend anywhere from $230 to $2,000.
The retail price (in keeping with the whole '23' theme -- these are the 23rd edition of the Air Jordans) should be $230. As Chris Littmann of The Sporting Blog
has uncovered, at least one of the 23 shops marked it up to $500 a pair. (That's more than $230
per shoe.) eBay's already gotten even worse -- as of this writing, a pair of size 11's is
up to $1,726 with 31 bids and three hours to go.
Henry Abbott had a
nice first-hand account of the line in New York City this morning, and KixintheCity.com reported folks
lined up in the snow in Chicago yesterday for a shot at a pair (via
The Association). Absolutely nuts.
