pleese tell me why in USA basketball that is new to me you have two lines on each side of the lane, which we do not have in fiba ... i have try to know this because your lane has two lines on both sides but the outside line is the line for the lane? .. why the other pleese?

He's from Russia and knows everything there is to know about basketball in his country but never saw an NBA game until we went to see the Knicks. ... I don't know anything about basketball so I can't answer his question. ... He tells me that he wants to know why, in the NBA, there are two lines on each side of the lane, running from the free throw line to the baseline. .. In other words, on each side of the lane, there's one line marking the border or the lane, and another, parallel line just inside of it. ... He says they don't have this in Russia.
