Re: Stern admits NBA refs blow calls Who does then? People complain about officiating in all leagues (Maybe not Hockey but I would never know). I need not mention the debacle that was the NFL playoffs or the college bowl games. Baseball officials receive an absurd amount of scrutiny, considering how subjective a strike zone can really be. NCAA basketball officials seem to avoid controversy, but that could be the result of A) no one cares about the regular season and B) during the post season everything is happening all at once and no one thinks too interject how poor the officiating may or may not be. I am not implying that the NBA does have the best officiating, but if not them, who?

Re: Stern admits NBA refs blow calls Well, like you maybe this is a product of not viewing the sport enough, but I'd say the NHL. I've really ever heard of one major blown call in pro hockey, and that was the Brett Hull in the crease no-call during the Cup Finals a few years back. My beef with the NBA officials is the lack of travelling calls more than anything, but you look at the end of regulation in the Suns-Lakers game from a few days ago where they not only missed Nash getting mugged but missed his attempts to call for a timeout. I'd even be tempted to say that, on the whole, the baseball umps do a better job than the NBA refs. It's close though.

Re: Stern admits NBA refs blow calls NBA refs love to call anything that appears to be a foul, and then just as quick let the guys kill each other. The longer the ref has been in the league, the worse he is. How many times do guys go to the basket untouched and a foul is called? Watch the games and let me know.
