It's a disgrace that a player of his caliber is not in the Hall. The guy might have been boring to watch (he made his living at the line). Here's a breakdown of his accomplishments.

* 24.3 ppg (career),
* 4 straight + 30 ppg seasons
* 6 time all-star (started 5 of those 6 years)
* ROY
* 2 time scoring champ
* 18th all time leading scorer in the NBA (not including ABA).
* 1976 Gold Medal Winner

So which sportswriter(s) (or current HOF) did he piss off to get turned down 4 times now?

No doubt he belongs in the Hall of Fame. I totally agree with you.

Yes, most definitely. Don't forget that A.D. was also the Comeback Player of the Year in 1984, and that his shooting percentage of 54% is one of the best ever among non-centers. And he's currently 18th on the scoring list, but his 23,000-plus was good for Top 10 upon his retirement. The guy is definitely a Hall of Famer in my book.

I never realized how good his numbers were. I never considered Dantley to be a great player but a very, very good one. But I guess I would vote yes.

His number is not even retired by the Utah Jazz. Who did this guy piss off to get such disrespect?? He is the only player in the NBA's top 25 career scoring list not in the HOF. What a shame!
