| Re: NBA MVP Candidates Welcome to the boards, russrex2424. Thanks for joining us here to talk a little NBA basketball! Billups this year is averaging 18.6 points per game, fourth in the league with 8.7 assists per game, and 3.1 rebounds per game. Statistically speaking, he's behind Nash in these categories, as well as field goal percentage and free throw percentage, but ahead in minutes and 3-point shooting percentage. I'm not convinced that he's a legitimate candidate. |

| Re: NBA MVP Candidates Kobe. All jokes and kidding aside, it's gotta be Kobe. After hemming and hawing about the player who really crushed me with his ill behavior, the Sports Guy won me over. It's a three tiered argument: 1. flat out stats; 2. his importance to the time; and 3. the answer to the question, "which player will we remember most from 2005-06?" With games like the 81-pointer and number of awesome displays, who else will be remember for their play this season? LeBron's got far more great games ahead. Nash, okay, maybe. If the Suns take it all, but doesn't the vote happen before that? Dirk, ditto for Dallas. Sigh. It's Kobe.

| Re: NBA MVP Candidates yea i see what you guys are saying about chauncey, i dont think he should win it but i thought he should at least have been a candidate. You talked about how kobe has been the only person to do stuff that we will remember in the future. Yes that is true that we will remember his games but i know that i will also remember in a few years all of the game winners that lebron has had this year. MVP = Lebron |

| Re: NBA MVP Candidates Now that Philly's out of the playoffs, I really think Kobe and LeBron are the two main candidates. A.I. had a great season, but I can't see giving it to a guy who can't carry his team into the postseason. I'd like to see James win it, too... but I don't think that'll happen to tell the truth. |

| Re: NBA MVP Candidates QUESTION: Should the MVP be a player with impressive stats? OR Should the MVP be a player who helps him team? THE ANSWER=Not Allen Iverson but Elton Brand or Kobe (Somebody from LA) |
| ||||
| MJH Mark come on over to the Elton Brand camp. Why am I the only solid Elton Brand guy out there? I think giving it to Kobe would be a travesty. I can't give it to a guy who plays 1 on 5 basketball. My voting would be this: 1) Brand 2) Lebron I wouldn't even consider voting for anyone else - maybe Nash but that's it. |

Brand to some extent? Take Brand off that team. Do you think the Clippers make the playoffs? |

| Re: NBA MVP Candidates Darn it, I wasn't clear enough, sorry. You're right, Pundit - Brand definitely is the catalyst for the Clippers success. He leads the team in points, rebounds, field goal percentage and blocks. What I mean was, I'm pro Brand and Arenas to some extent. Brand's not in my top 3, but he's 11th in the league in scoring and he's the only top 10 rebound guy to be averaging at least 24 points per game. He's also top 10 in field goal percentage. Those are very good numbers, but they're just not MVP numbers. |
