| Re: Best NBA Teams of All-Time Quote:
the bulls had 2 3 peats. those lakers had one where shaq was teh star, not kobe. the celtics and lakers of the 80's would dominate today's lakers. and the celtics of the 60's that have 11 rings - i repeat 11 rings. that means bill russell has more rings than fingers. and lets not forget the physicality of the 80's-early 90's pistons. today's lakers would stand no chance against the dynasties of a decade (and beyond) ago. lets not forget how sissified teh game has become today.

| Re: Best NBA Teams of All-Time The Bulls were OVERRATED!!! Out of all the teams they played none and I mean none are hall of fame teams. They won six championships in 8 years 91' Lakers - Over the hill at this point but still came of the west - either the west was that weak or the Lakers were at one time that good. 92' Portland - Joke team, talented but zero leadership skills, never heard of them again after this 93' Phoenix - Never heard of them again 96' Seattle- Never heard of them again 97' Utah - 2 man pick and roll team who could have beat the bull if Malone hit some big free throws 98' Lost in 6 see above What teams did the bulls face in the East that were any good?? The Knicks - ha the no offense, no talent knicks were a joke, that was all grind and pat riley The Magic? A bit too young and penny hardaway was good but no D The Heat??? C'mon, i mean when they win 60+ games something is wrong with the league!!!!!!!! The 90's were an era when $$$$$$$$$$$ was the most important I tell you Kobe owned pippen in 99', made him look foolish and imagine if the league had more competitors like kobe back then. How many wins did the bulls get from expansion, nope CHICAGO IS OVERRATED. Any number of teams would shut him down from the past |

Kobe owned Pippen in 99...lol Pippen was 34 years old in 99 and coming to the end of his career while Kobe was 21 years old and just reaching his peak, so prolly not the best comparison is it. There appears to be a Kobe obsession on this forum, have a look at the 04/05 season. Shaq left LA and they they went from the NBA finals series in 03 to not making the playoffs and winning a measly 34 games. And the team that Shaq went to Miami did what...oh yeah they won the Championship. |

oh come on, who left out the Shaq Diesel? 2000 Lakers or the 2002 Lakers? come on, Lakers pretty much swept the entire NBA Playoffs and lost 1 game in the Finals. I gotta agree with the Bulls (Look at the season records and dominance they had and they didnt even need a real center). I hate them but agree with the Celts.

| When you are talking the best of all-time, you have to consider transcendent abilities to be able to play in any era. Obviously the contemporary teams have the physical advantages over the older teams but the older teams had better skills, not to mention less teams meant higher star power on the bench. What makes the 1960s Celtics so dominant was that the consistently beat mini-allstar teams in the Los Angeles Lakers and the Philadelphia Warriors. Anyone of those teams could be competitive with todays team because of its relentless up and down speed. Make no mistake, they were a very fast team. As for my youthful days, The Lakers and Celtics of the 1980s completely dominated the competition. Philly had a competitive team 1977-85 but managed just 1 title. The Lakers were built just like the 1960s Celtics. The Celtics 1986 team literally toyed with every team. My pick for greatest ever. The Bulls of the 1990s were a great team but they played in an era where there was no team to other team to push them. The NBA is built on rivalries. MJ is the greatest ever but without a rival, it seems tainted as to how good the team really was. This decade does not have any real dominant team (much like the 1970s). Lakers were good and I think were better than the Bulls in some ways. The Spurs play a regal game of ball. i don't know where they stand yet in the pantheon. Time will tell! 1985-86 Celtics just did all things so effortlessly. Passing, rebounding, shooting, defense, bench. They were a 5-tool team!! |
