NBA Playoff Ratings Continue To Decline

The NBA Finals continue to draw far fewer viewers than last year. The San Antonio Spurs' 75-72 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night received a 6.4 national rating and an 11 share on ABC, down 20 percent from the 8.0/14 for last year's Game 3 between the Dallas Mavericks and the Miami Heat.
The Game 3 drop follows a 30 percent plunge for Game 2 and a 19 percent decline for Game 1.
The rating is the percentage watching a telecast among all homes with televisions, and the share is the percentage tuned in to a broadcast among those households with televisions on at the time. A ratings point represents 1,114,000 households.

Re: NBA Playoff Ratings Continue To Decline

More and more people are starting to not care about the NBA. Their team is already out of the playoffs so they don't care anymore.

Re: NBA Playoff Ratings Continue To Decline

I just don't think LeBron James is as big a draw as the NBA thought he was. The whole Spurs factor doesn't help matters either. They're a proven ratings killer no matter how great the team actually is.

75-72, what more needs be said? Like watching grass grow. The NBA is on its way to becoming irrelevant.

Cool Re: NBA Playoff Ratings Continue To Decline

San Antonio is not good for ratings. They're good but don't draw interest. Besides, this might be one of the most boring finals series in NBA history.

Re: NBA Playoff Ratings Continue To Decline

Who is a ratings draw in today's NBA? The Lakers...and...*birds chirping*

If only the Knicks mattered....
