NL Wild Card Watch

After last night's (8/30) set of games, here's how the NL Wild Card looks...

1. Padres (W over 'Zona), 69-65
2. Phillies (W over Nats), 68-65, 0.5
3. Reds (L to Dodgers), 67-67, 2.0
4. Astros (W over Brew), 66-68, 3.0
5. Marlins (L to Cards), 65-68, 3.5
6. Giants (L to Braves), 65-69, 4.0
7. Braves (W over Giants), 64-68, 4.5

The Marlins suffered their first loss in nearly two weeks. The Astros win and move three games behind the PAdres. The Phillies (who have a favorable schedule down the stretch) stay on tap with the Padres.

Even though they're all mediocre teams, it's fun watching them all hunt for that one playoff spot.

I may be an optimist, but I still have to believe my reds can pull it out.

On the record, Go 'Stros. Off the record, I have a feeling it will be the loser of the big LA/Pads series this weekend. I wish it would come from the central, but that's a long shot now.
