Barry Bonds' personal trainer refused to tell a grand jury Thursday whether he gave the slugger steroids, but a federal judge did not jail Greg Anderson for contempt of court.

I don't understand why the Judge in that case isn't forcing Anderson to testify. Everyone knows without his testimony, the government's case is greatly lessened against Bonds.

I think without more potential evidence, the case will become less effective to finding him guilty. The Judge seems to be in a conservative mood which means that he isn't motivated that much to follow through with the case. It wouldn't surprise me if you see him at a Giants' game with an authentic Bonds jersey on his chest.

Eventually, I'm sure the Federal Government will go after Bonds for the tax evasion case.

Bottom line is Barry Bonds is a jerk. I am a big McGwire fan and I was pissed when Bonds broke his record. The difference is, McGwire was always good to the press and fans. Bonds just pisses everyone off.

I share the same perspective that you do, Pogue25. From what I remember, Mark McGwire was very friendly to the fans and the media. Barry Bonds has a very pompous attitude where he thinks that the world revolves around him. I guess he feel inside the celebrity trap where you get paid millions and always want more. Selfish is another word, which is often compared to Manny Ramirez of the Red Sox and Terrell Owens of the Dallas Cowboys. It is a virus that is spreading across sports.

Welcome to GoTeamGoPogue25. I agree with you about Bonds. A therapist would have a field day trying to figure out why Bonds is such an angry, bitter person. He was like this even before steroids. He has a life that 99% of us would die for and he acts like an idiot.

Now Anderson is sitting in a prison cell until he wants to testify against Bonds and Sheffield. How do you guys think he'll last? Will he continue to keep his mouth shut?

I don't think we have any business snooping around in their personal/federal problems. Anderson chose to make a poor decision and he will have to face the consequences. Don't do the crime if you don't want the time.

It's interesting because Anderson can incriminate (probably) not only Bonds but guys like Sheffield and other players linked to BALCO. It's as close to having a positive test for the guys.
