We had some discussion earlier in this thread about Corey Patterson.

This year, he has stolen the most bases in his career with 37 to date.
I also think Frank Thomas might be a candidate with those vibrant numbers of his. We thought he would retire this season, but no.

Thomas by the Years:
2005--34G, .219, 12 HR, 26 RBI
2006--91G, .261, 24 HRs, 67 RBI

Re: 2006 MLB Comeback of the Year Finalists

A "comeback" indicates that you once played at some sort of a high level, which right off the bat leaves Corey Patterson out. It also infers that you overcame some sort of injury or hardship, which sends Beltran to the sidelines here. This is still going to be Nomar and Thome in the end. I'll bet my dog's life on it ( the one that chews everything).

Don't go ahead putting your poor mutt into jeopardy, legend!

You have yourself a point there, though. Does anyone have any comments?

NL I would go with Rolen. When the cards were struggling he was very consistent and is putting together a very nice year after about 2 years out.

AL has to go to Frank Thomas. He was run out of Chicago for always being injured and not a team player. He is having a great season even though everybody counted him out and were wondering why he did not retire.-me included.
