2006 National League Preview & Update

As I'm spending more time searching around blogs, I came across FRANK THE TANK and his 2006 NL Preview.

Frank picks the Braves to win the East with star laden NY Mets coming in second.

Frank says the Cubs are gonna win the weak NL central this year with the Brewers coming in second. He's got the Pirates swabbing up the deck in last place.

He ran out of steam to give us much on the NL West. Giants are his pick to win becasue/despite lovehim/hatehim Barry Bonds.

With the advantage of hindsight, I think he did a pretty good job of picking, except for the Cubbies. He got San Diego and the Mets right as doing well. And the Bucs are in the basement.

Re: 2006 National League Preview & Update

Thanks for sharing this incredible link with us, Rmjvol. These are excellent predictions considering they were made before the beginning of the season. I am sure that I would have messed up "big-time" if I ever made any of these projections. I still have some things which I think he was a tad bit off on.

I have to give him credit for putting the Mets up there in the NL East. They are truly one of the tops teams in their division. There were two main surprises so far this season in that troublesome area. The Braves dropped last in the NL East, as the Marlins surprising climbed up the charts.

I wouldn't have placed the Astros and Cardinals so low on the lists, because they qualified for the Playoffs last year. A lot of baseball fans thought that the Cubs would pull out a marvelous year, but team injuries got the better of them. The Brewers aren't that bad, but they are still in the re-building process. I expect to see them in the Playoffs within the next few years, or so.

The NL West seems almost reverse compared to reality. The San Francisco Giants are sitting second to last and the Dodgers are on top of them by a game. It looks like a tough division to win between the Dodgers, Giants, Rockies and our current leader--The Padres. Arizona looks like their out of it, even though they are only 4 and a half games behind first. Considering their 2-8 record in their last ten games, forget about it!
