Re: What Would It Take For You To Stop Watching Baseball? I like sports as form of entertainment. Im not by any means a fanatic whos gonna paint his face and go shirtless to a game. There was a point in my life where id die to see the Giants win the SuperBowl again but now its not that big a priority. I like other things in my life more. Its a TV show to me, I enjoy it a lot (NFL and NHL) but its as good as my favorite show My Name is Earl only Earl doesnt have all those cool stats to crunch! Then again My Name is Earl does have Jaime Pressly and Nadine Velasquez!!! Last edited by Trashed : 06-15-2006 at 01:58 PM.

Re: What Would It Take For You To Stop Watching Baseball? LSC said it better than me actually. Thats another problem I have with sports which was brilliantly illustrated is his post. If more sports fans were like LSC and more critical of the sports they like, maybe things in sports that are wrong would change. His post actually was the type of answer I was hoping for when I started this thread, not a baseball vs. football battle royal. I wanted critically thought answers. Its tough when it comes to sports though I know.

Re: What Would It Take For You To Stop Watching Baseball? I have never been a fan that would paint his face and go shirtless, well, not unless it is hot outside. I am an avid college sports fan more than pro sports and have been all my life. I enjoy watching pro sports for entertainment, but the games that really matter to me are played on saturdays in the fall. That is when I break out my Husker jerseys and hats and analyze every detail of the game as it is played. Pro sports lost a lot of it's appeal to me over the years due to the attitudes of the players involved and what I see as terrible officiating in the biggest games. I personally believe many playoff games and title games are fixed by the refs working the games for whatever reason. Maybe the networks influence looking for higher ratings, maybe the league top brass influences to further market a likeable star player over an unpopular star player. Who knows? For me, it is all about college sports first and the pro's are secondary. The only exception for me is baseball, where the pro game is far superior to the college game that uses aluminum bats. I guess the other reason may be that baseball is the ONLY sport going through the long summer.

Re: What Would It Take For You To Stop Watching Baseball? Trashed, sometimes the "excesses" of the game can become more hyped up than the game itself, which is irritating, but I always come back for more. (I'm weak) Besides it's a game that we all grew up with. Haha but if you're looking for some good ole fashioned type stuff, you can always try baseball in JAPAN: http://www.hudsonent.com/feature.php?feature_id=34
