Second Generation Superstars

An article explaining how Hochevar was chosen first by the Royals this year went on to state how there were many SONS of stars being chosen in the draft as well. Take a look at the list of stars who's sons were picked in this years draft.

Doug Drabek - pitcher, been everywhere
Don Mattingly - 1B, Yanks
Jesse Barfield - ?, anybody know?
Carney Lansford - ?, anybody know?
Chet Lemon - CF, White Sox
Gary Roenicke - ?, anybody know?

Also on the list were Jim Tracy the Pirates manager and the Pirates hitting coach John Shelby whose sons were chosen in this years draft. Way to keep the game in the family guys.

I just had to mention it because I remember Chet Lemon playing for the Sox way back when I was just a kid. http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories...06-06-19-23-58

Re: Second Generation Superstars

The Barfield kid was chosen by the Mets in one of the later to middle rounds.

I wouldn't call these guys 'Superstars' just yet

Don't forget Tony Pena's kid who is a free agent right now and is fielding offers from teams such as the Mets, Yanks, Red Sox and others.
