ok this is just one of the oddest things i have ever heard ... Bud Selig and i may have to have a talk

as i hear it .... a pitcher throws a pitch to a batter with 2 strikes ... the batter swings at the pitch and misses .... so it's strike three .... but the ball gets away from the catcher and it rolls to the back-stop .... so the batter at that time is allowed to run to first .... if he makes it before the catcher can gather the ball and throw him out he is safe

as it has been explained to me the pitcher is credited with a strike out .... but the batter is not actually out and the fielding team still needs to get another out ..... if this isnt stupid enough .. just how is is this play scored for the catcher and the batter ?

It's been this way since, like, the beginning of time. It's a strikeout, and the batter reaches on an error.
