The nature of the relationship between Roger Clemens and Mindy McCready is apparently the debate, not the actual existence of it. Because that blurry line -- and the abounding questions -- actually exist, there is going to be plenty of discussion about Clemens' character, any sexual activity between he and McCready, and how any of this actually relates to steroids (Does it? I don't even know anymore.)

The New York Daily News reported late Sunday that "sources" are funneling them information that the relationship was indeed sexual.
Roger Clemens carried on a decade-long affair with country star Mindy McCready, a romance that began when McCready was a 15-year-old aspiring singer performing in a karaoke bar and Clemens was a 28-year-old Red Sox ace and married father of two, several sources have told the Daily News.

Sources say that when McCready, now 32, and Clemens were together, there was barely any friction between them. The two were known to take lavish trips to Las Vegas and New York. One time, McCready attended a Yankees game at the Stadium and jokingly donned a catcher's mask near the home dugout. During another Big Apple excursion, the two holed up in the trendy SoHo Grand and later partied with Monica Lewinsky and Michael Jordan.

As much as I dislike Rogo for a variety of reasons I will wait for a little more proof of this one. It is way to easy for someone to make allegations and far to difficult to prove them untrue.

I hope this is untrue. He was always one of my favorites. I think he still would have gotten into the HOF with the steroid allegations, but this latest one my ruin him true or not. A statutory rapist charge will be hard to take away....even if it turns out to be a lie.

Honestly, I don't care, I don't think this should effect him in in a court room, expect maybe, the fact there are more and more lies. But unless it's about steroids. I don't care what Roger Clemens does in his bedroom. I don't care.

I am with you bears9...keep it between the white lines...and the minute they throw Gaylord Perry for years of cheating out of the Hall of Fame, I will stop backing Clemens and Bonds...either cheating is cheating and relevent or not relevent at all...

by the way, Wade Boggs...affair...Chipper Jones...affair...Pete Rose...affair...on and on and on...

Dale Murphy...squeaky clean great player...and not in the Hall...so how does it really matter...

your not getting the point at all, an affair is one thing, but when you are "allegedly" having sex with minors, thats against the law, make sense now..16 will get you 20..

Dude...the age of the girl is relevant if it turns out true which we may never know...but there is no proof the sex thing start at 15...SO you ain't getting the age is "Alleged"...all you really have is he had an affair...and do did a lot of other people.

I think you're kind of blending a couple of lines here. Whatever might have happened with the 15 year old girl is mere speculation at this point. Hall of Fame and civil legal matters are two totally separate issues and in no way should be connected. I will agree that the steroid issue should effect his eligibility to the HOF but in the overall picture I will agree that one form of cheating isn't much different than the other. Spitters and steroid use can have the same general effect on the outcome of a game and since spitters are in then many feel that the "roid use should be set aside when looking at stats. Personally I think they should review those in the HOF and determine without a shadow of a doubt who shouldn't be in there.

For now though don't confuse his alleged affair with his steroid issues.

true thats why I said "allegedly", and how do you know for sure theres no proof? the girl said it was true..

I am tired of the Clemens crap...if he did 'roids then big deal...Perry cheated and got in...Whitey Ford would doctor the ball with nicks and cuts etc...can't have it both ways...

If he cheated on his wife...so did a heck of a lot of MLB and no one is kicking them out of the Hall etc...or making front page news for that matter....

If the girls age is relevent (and it might be), I haven't seen proof of it...

Personally, who gives a crap...but society as a whole has a sick way of making Idols out of people, only to want to tear them down...so Rog is not the model citizen...who cares...why are we so fascinated by bringing down? What does that say about us as a whole?

Well of course you can. You're an admin. They are the all powerful and knowledgeable !!! All I was really saying was that people in general shouldn't allow his personal issues intertwine with his professional issues. You radio personalities are so touchy !!!
