| Jim Leyritz Charged with DUI, Vehicular Homicide Jim Leyritz is in a South Florida county jail after being arrested for suspicion of DUI and vehicular homicide. A local news site reported, "Police said Jim Leyritz was behind the wheel of a Ford SUV that collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Southwest Seventh Avenue and Second Street in the Himmarshee area of downtown Fort Lauderdale. The impact caused the other car to roll over and the female driver of that vehicle was ejected and she died after being taken to a local hospital, police said. Leyritz was arrested on suspicion of DUI because he refused a Breathalyzer test, police said." | It's too bad the woman who was killed wasn't wearing a seat belt. She most surely would have survived. I know an EMT who told me that so many people who die because they weren't wearing seat belts would only have MINOR injuries if they would just buckle up. |

Very true. But, it doesn't excuse how he was driving. He hit the vehicle hard enough to roll it while drinking. But I am amazed how many drivers don't weat a seat belt. I don't go out of my driveway without mine. |

| Re: Jim Leyritz Charged with DUI, Vehicular Homicide I used to never wear mine until I had children. I always make them, and one day my son wouldn't. He said I never do. I kind of felt ashamed, so I won't even start the car up without buckling anymore. |
