Alright, it's Wednesday and the (in)famous Mitchell Report is slated to be released at some point over the next 14 hours. The latest story says the report will finger former All-Stars and MVPs. According to FOX Sports, the report will name 60-80 players linked to 'performance enhancing drugs.'

For reference, here is a list of all the MVP winners dating back 10 years: Jimmy Rollins, Alex Rodriguez, Ryan Howard, Justin Morneau, Albert Pujols, Barry Bonds, Vladimir Guerrero, Miguel Tejada, Ichiro Suzuki, Jeff Kent, Jason Giambi, Chipper Jones, Ivan Rodriguez, Sammy Sosa, Juan Gonzalez, Larry Walker and Ken Griffey Jr.


So, as the time comes, use this thread for any info on the report when it hits.

There's a press conference scheduled for 2 PM today in NYC where former Senator George Mitchell will talk to the media.

The full report will go live on MLB.com at 2pm - same time as the news conference - and ESPN coverage is set to start at 1pm.

ESPN is teasing that some of the names will be surprises, names we haven't heard or thought of yet. I guess we'll find out this afternoon.

Some early info has apparently leaked, but no names. Mitchell is going to recommend that MLB outsource its drug testing to a third party and start investigating claims supported only by circumstantial evidence. Also, the players association has not seen the report and will not before the announcement because of "lack of cooperation" in the investigation. So, there's the first little tidbits from the report.

Roger Clemens and Andy Pettite are reportedly named in Mitchell's report.

Wonder how this effects Pettite's new deal with the Yankees.
