Hall of Fame candidates Tim Raines, David Justice

Tim Raines and David Justice are among those new on this year's Hall of Fame ballot. Other first-time candidates include Brady Anderson, Rod Beck, Shawon Dunston, Chuck Finley, Travis Fryman, Chuck Knoblauch, Robb Nen, Jose Rijo and Todd Stottlemyre, while returning favorites include Mark McGwire, Rich Gossage, Jim Rice, Andre Dawson, Bert Blyleven, Lee Smith, Tommy John, Jack Morris, Dave Concepcion, Alan Trammell, Dave Parker, Don Mattingly and Dale Murphy. So who gets in?

Re: Hall of Fame candidates Tim Raines, David Justice

How in the world is Brady Anderson on the ballot?

Without checking out numbers, I don't think any of the new crop will get in. Travis Fryman? Jeez, I remember him, lol. Hall of Famer? LOL!

Gossage and Rice should get in now.

Cool Re: Hall of Fame candidates Tim Raines, David Justice

If Gossage and Rice don't get in this year, they'll never get in. Although I would give some serious consideration to Todd Stottlemeyre.

Big Mac is not getting in anytime soon. If he ever gets in, it will be a long time from now.

Re: Hall of Fame candidates Tim Raines, David Justice

I liked David Justice, but I don't think he's a Hall of Famer. Like Pundit said - it's time for a little catch-up in Cooperstown.

Re: Hall of Fame candidates Tim Raines, David Justice

Rice, Gossage and Morris should all be in. None of the newly eligible are evenly remotely close except for Raines, and only because of his stolen base totals.

I'd still love to see Mattingly and Murphy get in, numbers be damned.

Justice was huge for the Braves, Indians and Yankees all in playoff runs, but I can't see him making it.

Dawson and Trammell aren't already in? I can't believe that! I say Big Mac, Gossage, Rice, Tommy John and right on the mason dixon line is Raines and Rijo.
