Cool Games are too long

I think if the Yankees play one more, 4 hour, nine inning game, I might lose my mind.

Baseball games take too long. There's no reason for a 9 inning game to ever go over 3 hours.

But what can be done?

Are you sure about that? I see where last night, the Phillies-Nats 10 inning game took 4 hours. The 9 inning Mets game took 3:15....Too long.

Re: Games are too long

Baseball is a boring sport to begin with, there's no reason an MLB game should last longer than an NFL game, no ****ing way.

Re: Games are too long

With football, it's not like there's much difference. In baseball, it depends on the pitchers, the umpires, whether an offense is on fire, etc. So many variables.

Re: Games are too long

I like the idea that some have about a sort of "shot clock" but for pitchers. It would limit the amount of time for pitchers in between pitches. That way guys like Mussina, Trachsel, etc. wouldn't take forever.

Re: Games are too long

There's supposed to be a rule in place but it isn't enforced. Orioles-Yankee games, for some reason, are always four hour affairs.

Are you kidding ?? Can you imagine how that would effect the pitching rotations ???

You'd have to lower the price of the tickets

What about the 7th inning stretch ???

The HR record would never be broken again.

Too much to comprehend ................

Cool Re: Games are too long

The real problem is that pitching is so bad that the games take forever. The real solution would be to eliminate 3 or 4 teams. That's never goanna happen, is it?

You're right, erase Bonds' record and Homerin Hank will always be champ.

Every once in a while, they talk about it. But yeah, I doubt contraction's ever really going to happen.

Re: Games are too long

Both Florida teams could go in a heartbeat, without much protest from fans.
