Starting The 2008 season in Tokyo

The commissioner's office and the players' association are discussing the possibility of starting the 2008 season in Tokyo, with the Boston Red Sox, Seattle Mariners and Oakland Athletics under consideration along with the Toronto Blue Jays and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Re: Starting The 2008 season in Tokyo

I know this is an international sport with players from all over, but I just don't like the idea of not having a game in the teams home stadium. I would be mad if I took time off to see the opener, but couldn't because it was overseas. It has nothing to do with not wanting other countries to have our game. If they want MLB in their country, have them get a team. Then it would be a real world series.

I wouldn't argue with it. It's opening up the league to literally millions of new people.

Although I'm sure there is an issue with jetlag and whatnot. But still, if a franchise is asked to participate, I would think they'd be honored to represent MLB.
