Howard is the one i was thinking about, I like his chances. I like Pujols too.

seems possible Pujols could do it ..... though A-Rod will likely put the number out of his reach ....... Pujols has 270 now and he is 27, if he played until he is 40 and could average 40 per year he would get to 790 HR's

Ryan Howard seems much less likely .... sure he hit 58 last season, but he only has 107 total and he is also 27

A-Rod is now 31 and has 496 ....... if he can average 40 a year for the next 9 years he will have 856 at age 40

he has averaged 44 a year over the past 9 seasons

yes, but he is also 37 and he hasnt hit 40 or more since 2000

i would think he would need another 5 season of injury free ball just to have a chance to catch Bonds

if he can finish this season with 600 ..... 30 more a year for 5 years obviously will only get him to 750 which isnt enough
