He may improve with more experience as a full-time catcher, but his arm is below average and he does not profile as a premium catch-and-throw guy. Some see a switch to the infield -- he's played third in college -- but he may make for a good backup catcher who plays the game the right way. Enhanced Scouting Report 60 Detroit Hamilton, Joey Stanhope Elmore HS RHP R/R 6'02"205 1988-12-25HS400K Comments: Hamilton's pure stuff and ability to pitch are there, and that kept scouts coming all year. But he didn't always show he knew how to deal with adversity on the mound and wasn't always aggressive enough. His inconsistencies all year will keep him from going as highly as his size and stuff might dictate, but teams will perhaps be intrigued by his power arm after the first round. Enhanced Scouting Report 84 Boston Morris, Jeffrey Virgil I Grissom HS 3B L/R 6'02"200 1988-10-07HS400K Comments: Morris has put up some ridiculous numbers as a high school outfielder and he does have some pretty legitimate raw power from the left side, a commodity often in high demand. The rest of his game is behind the pop, with his overall approach at the plate needing some work and his defense average at best. Some see him as a fourth outfielder at the next level, but someone is sure to take a chance on his power potential. Enhanced Scouting Report 185 Tampa Salem, Emeel U Alabama Tuscaloosa CF L/L 6'00"180 1985-02-11SR400K 236 Dodgers Danielson, Danny Russell County HS RHP R/R 6'04"220 1988-12-12HS400K 335 Tampa Jones, David Gulf Shores HS CF L/L 6'01"185 1987-12-15HS400K 428 Pirates McPherson, Kyle U Mobile RHP S/R 6'03" 1987-11-11 JR 400K 432 Rockies Davis, Kentrail Theodore HS CF L/R 5'09"195 1988-06-29HS400K Comments: A perfect example of the high risk/high reward toolsy athlete, Davis does have all five tools, even if they are raw. In some ways, he showed better over the summer at showcases with wood bats than he has during this season. Whether that hurts or helps him remains to be seen. Enhanced Scouting Report 442 Cardinals Dew, Joshua Troy U RHP R/R 6'04"225 1985-01-15 SR 400K 479 White Sox Paiml, Gregory U Alabama Tuscaloosa SS R/R 6'00"1851984-08-03SR 504 Bailey, Austin Prattville HS RHP S/R 6'01"195 1988-10-10 HS 400K Comments: There are some interesting parts there, with two promising pitches in a fastball that has been clocked as high as 94 mph and a curve that at times has shown above-average potential. He doesn't have much of a changeup, something scouts would like to have seen in order to consider taking him in the early stages of the draft. Enhanced Scouting Report 568 Angels Martin, Zack Andrew College 3B L/R 6'03"215 1987-01-13 J1 581 Brewers Wheeler, Zealous Wallace State CC 3B R/R 5'10"220 1987-01-16 J2 648 Braves Miles, Kuyaunnis Chattahoochee Valley CC OF L/R 6'02" 185 1987-05-15J1 720 Athletics Pruitt, James U Montevallo OF R/R 5'09" 195 1985-03-11 SR 749 White Sox Patterson, Kevin Oak Mountain HS 1B L/R 6'04" 215 1988-09-28 HS400K Comments: Patterson is a kind of all-or-nothing, hit-or-miss kind of guy. When he can get his arms extended, he's got tremendous power. But he also has some holes in his swing and sometimes tries to work counts too much at the plate, leaving some concerned about his overall hittability. He'll never be drafted for his glove. If he hits for power, he could be a star in the future. He does have a very strong commitment to Auburn and is considered a tough sign.
