Re: Should The MLB Have Instant Replay??

I voted no, but I would be for it if it was just for HR calls. MLB tried to use technology in the game before with strike calls. All it did was make the game worse. The umpires were afraid to call borderline strikes because they were afraid to look bad making a bad call.

No way Jose. Baseball games have enough stoppages as there is and are long enough without bringing instant replay in the mix. A nine inning game could be extended to like 4 hours! Plus technology marches forward but baseballs simplicity always seemed to have it's own charm without digitizing it. Football and Hockey? Yes. Baseball? Heck no is my vote!

What could be any worse than football. A 60 minute game goes on for three hours plus and everyone is fine with that.

I'm actually against that, too. It slows down the game too much and the refs get half the replays wrong, anyway.

I am in favor of hiring referees and officials who are not a thousand years old.

I'm no stats guy but on average how many replays are called for during the NFL games and how many do you think would be called for in a MLB game. I just don't see that many and again if there were a penalty for a bad call by the coach, in other words the replay proving the ump right, that would keep the issue from being over used. How about a maximum number that you could request ???
