| MLB Possible Relocations Quote "Baseball should have allowed the Expos to move years ago, once it was clear Montreal was never going to care about baseball or build a new ballpark that might have at least sparked a little renewed curiosity about baseball. A few bucks in Peter Angelos' pocket -- enough to convince him to drop the Orioles' opposition to a team in D.C. or Northern Virginia -- was always a much cheaper, and much better, option than contraction. And the Expos aren't the only team that ought to be allowed to move. The A's should be allowed to relocate to the Silicon Valley. The Marlins or Devil Rays ought to move to Orlando. This sport needs that flexibility to fix its problems. Revenue sharing alone won't do it. Passion and geography ought to be part of the formula." | Re: MLB Possible Relocations Tampa Bay is always the first team that comes to mind. They're dead last in the league in attendance this year. Florida, Kansas City, and sadly my Pirates are other teams that were at the bottom of the attendance barrell last year and are again this season. I wouldn't mind seeing Brooklyn get another team. Other than that, I guess you have the usual suspects when it comes to relocation rumors.

The teams I have heard recently are Portland, San Bernardino/Riverside, Ca, San Antonio, Norfolk Virginia, Las Vegas, and yes Orlando (as you can see by the article) possible relocations |

| Re: MLB Possible Relocations Why does Central Florida do so well in attendace in Spring training, but their home teams (Rays & Marlins) dont do well in the regular season. Why not give the teams a chance in Jacksonville and Orlando? |

| Re: MLB Possible Relocations Simple, really. A lot of fans of the teams travel with the team from the home cities on vacation. Spend a week or two down in Florida, have some fun in the sun and watch your team play some spring training baseball. Essentially, it's an artificial fanbase - the same principle as fans travelling with a college football team to a Bowl Game. |
