Lots of factors of course. Many already mentioned. But remember the season was a shorter season back in 1920...and my big one is...MEDICAL. Remember, no antibiotics in those days. You got sick and that was it. You played sick for days or didn't play at all. How'd you like to play without Motrin, Advil, Tylenol, no amoxicillan, or other meds and not have a trainer to tweak every little muscle pull or universal gym equipment to enhance each and every aspect of you body, and no video tape to allow you to hone your swing to the nth degree. Think about it!!!...................All that said I sure would like to see a game today using the old gloves. Would be fun.

To be a journalist, according to an internship I had, you must concisely direct your comments toward a subject but make sure that your contradictory clauses are juxaposed, making them an ultimate paradox. okay, getting back to this...uh...thread...does Ichiro rock and Sisler suck?...

Maybe a fair comparison will be to compare each to the best hitters of their era, and see who comes out ahead?...Can we say Sisler was in the top 5 of his era, or Ichiro in the top five now? (Purely as a hitter for hits and average, not as a slugger)

So what you are saying is that size does matter afterall...and thus Sisler having the smaller size (gloves to play against) can't measure up to the wonder that is Ichiro?
