MLB Interleague Play

for several years now MLB has had Interleague Play

do you think it's a good thing ?

i can see the point that certain teams always play for rivalries like the NY Subway Series ........ and Atlanta's Chipper Jones claims it is unfair the Braves have to play Boston while others in their division dont

but i submit with so many teams the schedule will never be truly equal for all teams ....... heck right now Boston appears to be one of the top three teams in MLB and the other AL East teams play them way more then any other teams ...... us that fair and equal ?

i like interleague play ...... i think it let's fans see their favorite team play teams they dont normally play and it does keep up old rivalries

Re: MLB Interleague Play

I guess I'm undecided. I see the benefits of it, but I personally am overcome with apathy when it comes to interleague play.

Re: MLB Interleague Play

I love it. I get to see teams come to the park I normally wouldnt. Right now it is the only way I get to see the Reds play at a stadium. They are playing the Indians this weekend.

Re: MLB Interleague Play

It sucks...if the Yankees want to play the Braves outside of Spring training, then make it to the freakin World Series...Baseball is tradition rich...and traditional those two teams never met, execpt at the very end and only if they were good or lucky...and bring back the flannel and the small gloves while you are at it.

Tradition? The dollar rules. If baseball cared about tradition, they wouldn't have put teams in joke baseball cities like Tampa.

Also, I think interleague gives a twist to an interminable 162 game season. Who would you rather see the Yankees play, the Mets for 6 games, or another 6 against Kansas City?

Re: MLB Interleague Play

In philosophy, it was good in the early stages but now about 10 years later, I'm sick of it.

I guess the majority of fans aren't because interleague play is still a major draw and some of the match-ups are interesting.

Hey watch it... I live close to that joke market...

Without tradition you do not have a game...it is the glue that holds it together...sadly, the more you tinker without the more you move away from the National Pastime.

Baseball has changes during the past few decades.

I support interleague play, because it grants certain organization the opportunity to visit other stadiums. Similar to the Lakers visiting the Knicks one time a season, it is a big event and often draws large crowds.

I like it! I'm going to see the Phils-Blue Jays tomorrow night! Should be a great night at the park, if the weather holds off!

Re: MLB Interleague Play

I am going to take my son to the Reds/Indians game tonight. Would not have been able to do that without interleague play.

Re: MLB Interleague Play

I like it because some of us Atlanta market people get to see AL teams in Atlanta without having to travel to New York or Boston. I am sure they are both great cities but that gets very expensive.
