The Steroid investigation will probably go nowhere. As much as I would like to get to the bottom of the whole thing, I really don't think that anything is going to happen. They started too late. It's going to get a lot of air play and that's about all that is going to happen. Prior to 2004 steroids were not considered illegal in MLB and there was nothing written in the collective bargaining agreement. Even if we find out that Bonds was on steroids there is nothing that can be done other than putting an asterisk beside his name in the recod books. I guess for some fans that would be justice served. Oh well, here we go with another along and drawn out process over Mr Bonds.

I think more than anything this is to keep the MLB sponsors on board. I guess several of them have said they will not be affiliated with any kind of celebration for Bonds breaking the HR record. So Selig needs to try and quiet their concerns by looking like he's actually interested in addressing the issue.

I've heard rumors that people could be suspended if they fail to cooperate. Anyone else hear this?
