I sure hope not...first Sosa...then they will go after me and find out I occassionally use an Asthma medication that is in part a steroid...

My nephew's doctor won't even talk to me on the phone if he has a fever because of these privacy regulations (has to be a parent), and they're talking about just handing these guys records over to the government? Man, that's bad news right there. Baseball, the players union, Sosa, everyone should be fighting this tooth and nail because it's just insane.

Major League Baseball and the players' union reached an agreement earlier this week that players will decide whether to release their medical records, unidentified baseball sources told the Daily News reported.

looks like a deal was made...still up to Sosa I would think?

this is a power trip by senator mccain. its not like players hiding the fact they are playing with HIV, no one is getting hurt by this, as much as id like to see someone like bonds go down in flames, doing it this way is the wrong way. If my brother explained to me right, it has something to do they gave up there rights to patient rights when they granted major leauge baseball access to medical records is what they arguing. This steriod thing is turning into a witch hunt in my mind. Look if you can catch sosa on a pharmacy records buying it or under an alias great, but dont go after something thy do to make sure they are healthy. If they thought theyd get caught this way thy would never goto the dr, and would never know if they had something that really needed medical atttion besids an injury.

and when does congress come down on this? I just dont get why this is just baseball. Where was all this in the eighties with the nfl? Why arent other sports under the watchfull eye? ISnt 50 games enough for a first time offense?
