Reality Baseball vs Fantasy Baseball

we started this discussion during the first Sunday night game

which is more important to you ......... Fantasy Baseball or Reality Baseball ?

let's say youre a huge Pirates fan (Lefty) and your Fantasy team is full of Dodgers

the Dodgers are playing the Pirates ......... is there even a question who you cheer for ?

some of you are thinking 'of course there is no question, im a Fantasy guy all the way'

now, of course you would be wrong ........ you have to live in the real world here ........ fan-hood before Fantasy

Re: Reality Baseball vs Fantasy Baseball

I'm going with fantasy, but in reality, it's sort of a win-win situation for me. If the Bucs do well, I'm good. If the fantasy players do well, I'm good.

Re: Reality Baseball vs Fantasy Baseball

It's all about fantasy baseball, baby.

As you can tell, I'm neutral in baseball (for the most part).

I love the Dodgers and the Mets the most, but I don't hate any of the other organizations. Living in New York, I favor the Yankees over Boston but I wouldn't mind rooting for Boston once in a while.

Fantasy is the one team which I do favor the most. I don't care if it is the WTFs or the Balco Bombers, because I'm going to come up on top.

With me it is the Reds all the way. I root for them to win every game. If they lose and some of my fantasy players did well against them, it just helps lessen the pain.

Fantasy hands down...followed by rooting for prospects whose baseball cards I have...followed by, well, the Reds...in that order...now in the late 70's with the Big Red Machine it was a different story...

Re: Reality Baseball vs Fantasy Baseball

Wow...I never would have thought this would have been a question. I'm a Mets fan and even if my fantasy team were filled with Phillies, I could never root against my Mets so that my fantasy team would do better. Come to think of it, that's why I don't have a fantasy team...haha

Re: Reality Baseball vs Fantasy Baseball

Its kinda a double negative, fantasy baseball is based on reality baseball. With that said, fantasy all the way..

Re: Reality Baseball vs Fantasy Baseball

You have to go with fantasy ... it's all about the team that you build. You have no control over reality ???? Can't believe I said that !!

Re: Reality Baseball vs Fantasy Baseball

Anyone who picks fantasy over reality and lives less than ~100 miles from you favorite team's home base should be banned from baseball.

Cool Re: Reality Baseball vs Fantasy Baseball

In money leagues, I always root for my fantasy player. If it was a game to decide a playoff spot, it would probably be different.

And in hockey, I never root against any Islanders but I've only been in free leagues for hockey

Re: Reality Baseball vs Fantasy Baseball

I always root for my favorite player in the NHL, Chris Campoli. In fact, I feel obligated to acquire him in my fantasy league. However, I do not expect him to pull my team into the playoffs.

Cool Re: Reality Baseball vs Fantasy Baseball

Why Campoli? This is only his 2nd year. Who did you like before that?

Re: Reality Baseball vs Fantasy Baseball

Jason Blake.

Chris Campoli's last name sounds like Canoli.
