Cool Future League MVP's

(Yahoo Sports 3/23/06)

AL MVP-in-waiting: – Grady Sizemore, Cleveland Indians -Fast enough to hit leadoff, smart enough to hit third, strong enough to hit cleanup – stick Sizemore anywhere and he'll succeed. He plays a mean center field, too. And the scary part: He doesn't turn 24 until August.
NL MVP-in-waiting: David Wright, New York Mets – In Wright's first full season, he drove in more than 100 runs and got on base almost 40 percent of the time. He also was not arrested, which is a good thing but seems a prerequisite for successful, young Mets.

David Wright I can see...I think the kod will only get better and better, though he is already pretty darn good...but I am not sold on Sizemore...sure he has 30/30 potential, but he k's way too much...I'm thinking All-Star but ont future MVP...any one else got a future choice?

Re: Future League MVP's

I like your pick for the NL MVP in David Wright. Being from New Jersey I get to see him play all the time and he looks liek an amazing player in a few seasons. I could defentialy see him as an MVP one season.

Ryan Howard. Of course I'm a bias Phillies fan. I really think he can become the David Ortiz of the National League

I'll second Howard as an MVP-in-waiting. That kid has all the potential to be a real beast at the plate.

Re: Future League MVP's

Why is the AL MVP always so subjective? Seriously, there is never a clear cut winner. As opposed to the NL who always seems to have a unanimous favorite (Possibly because they have Bonds). But is there something fundementally parallel with the competition in the AL? The DH? I can't even tell you who won last years AL MVP (I can narrow it down to Ortiz, A-Rod and Vlad Guerrero.

Legend: Cantu is a good choice.

How about:

NL: Aramis Ramirez
AL: Carl Crawford -
The problem with players like Crawford and Cantu is that they play for a lousy team so they'll often get overlooked.

Nothing free agency can't fix...

Cool Re: Future League MVP's

Gotham - if your hunch is right about Sizemore - the Indians just got a big bargain inking him to a 6 year 24 million dollar deal today!

Someday, one of those kids with Tampa will get the MVP award. Ofcourse that means that one day, the DRays will need to win.

I agree with you on Howard. He's a blast to watch. Though, hopefully he's unlike Ortiz in that he'll actually win an MVP. Ortiz was shafted last year, and will continue to be shafted, because people think that playing with someone like Manny makes him less deserving.
