Baseball over Football........

I can remember for years how much more I enjoyed football over baseball but as the years go by I'm having a change of heart. Football is intense and scientific and the Steelers made it a wonderful year but baseball has really taken my heart. Baseball is more like a symphony. You will have those quiet moments and then the music get louders with a three run homer or a strong throw from the outfield.

PNC Park is beautiful and you just love being at the old ball game once again. My dad and I spent a lot of time together talking about baseball strategy. That might have something to with it. How about you guys? Where do you find yourselves? There are a lot of NASCAR guys on the board and I'm sure that is your first love(other than the Mrs of course).

Track and Field?

You mean that you lay awake at night thinkin' about a javelin throw or a shot put or the 20 yard dash to the mailbox.

I can remember when track and field used to be on television. I really enjoyed it too. Unfortunately, the purity of it has been destroyed by drugs and such, much like baseball. There was nothing quite like a guy making a kick for the finish line in the mile, or a god finish to a relay.

Re: Baseball over Football........

Alot of the reasoning behind my love for Baseball over Football is the atmosphere. Football is a beer guzzling party. Baseball is a skill watching seminar. Call me boring but when I see the skill of Clemens v. the skill of AROD...im chained to the TV. Especially when a ring is on the line.

Re: Baseball over Football........

Alot of people dont know how much fun baseball is or anythign like that, unless they have played it for a few years. On game days when you step on to that field its such a great feeling lol u cant explain. Then, when your tide playing the district championship game 1-1 and hit a bomb dead center to win the game, thats what you call a great feeling.

Cool Re: Baseball over Football........

Football is by far the best regular season spectator sport. Every game means something. It's played by brutes but did anyone ever watch Ron Jaworski break down tape? It's so complicated, yet violent - and the gambling on it doesn't hurt either.

But the best playoff sport to watch is hockey if you have a rooting interest in one of the teams. Nothing like a sudden death O/T game in the playoffs. You need nerves of steel to watch those.

Baseball is also a great playoff sport but the regular season can get pretty boring at times. Thank goodness for fantasy.

Re: Baseball over Football........

Buc was right. Baseball is far superior to football. Football has too many injuries and the officiating just ruins the game. No one enjoys a brilliant play brought back cuz some old fart can't see and calls holding when there was none.

Touche...lol. There's nothing more in MLB that's annoying than an inconsistant home plate umpire. They can be so awful that it ruins the game, gets both pitchers off their game and just really effects the quality and outcome.

Of course, people love hating on umpires/refs/officials in all sports.

There are some bad umps with weird strike zones but NOT EVEN IN THE SAME GALAXY as the brainless, game killing officiating of the talentless, hallucinating bags of flesh called NFL officials. Personally if I were President of the USA and had the Patriot Act rule of taking a man to an offshore barge and with no trial and no information given to their families (if these lizards HAVE families) about what happened to them tie them up in black bags and dump every NFL official overboard for destroying the NFL and the hard work of guys like Lawrence Taylor, Joe Montana, Barry Sanders, etc. Bush has the power to do that under the Patriot Act so it's about time he do something worthwhile and take my suggestion. Iraq is nowhere near as annoying to the american public as these officials.
