I remember this game. I was watching it with my fiancee (a dual citizen of Hungary and America) and her aunt, likewise, both of whom are utterly ignorant of anything coming within a mile of "sports." I'm trying to explain the rules of baseball, what's important about this game, blah blah blah, and then Boone destroys it.

How could i possibly explain what had just happened? About how the Yankees had done it AGAIN to the Red Sox for like the infinitieth time? About how the Yanks would be playing in the big show instead of the 'Sox again?

I couldn't. I was speechless.

The greatest baseball game Ive ever seen would be May 13, 2004. The Yankees vs Angels. Although absolutely nothing exciting happened, it was my first live game at Yankee Stadium. It was the first year my then 9 year old son "got into" the game. Since then we have been several times. There is nothing greater than your first game on a hot spring afternoon in the greatest ball park of all time.

Baseball has always been more of an annoyance for me, but games four and five of the 2004 ALCS between the Yankees and Red Sox were definitely memorable.
